As our Construction Key Account Manager, Andy brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table. With his passion for the industry and dedication to delivering exceptional service, he's the go-to person for all your construction needs. But Andy is more than just a professional powerhouse. He's also an amazing team player, always ready to lend a helping hand and support his colleagues. His positive energy and friendly nature make him a joy to work with, and we're lucky to have him on our team.

How would you describe the Thorn Baker culture?
We work and win as a team and want everyone to be a success (people-driven). Whatever challenges come along either individually or as a team we look to overcome them in a positive manner (solution-focused). Good work is recognised and when people need to upskill there's always guidance (positive-minded). In all honesty, it's a great place to be.
Describe a typical work day for you.
Early rise 05.30 - sunshine, rain or snow I'll either be heading to customer's projects or into the office. A catch-up with the team about what is happening that day, the majority of my time is spent speaking with or meeting face-to-face existing customers and those we would like to work with. The team is growing and quite often there will be an element of mentoring the newer members of the team. 2023 is my 37th year of working in recruitment and I enjoy sharing knowledge gained and helping others be the best they can be both professionally and as a person.
What have been your biggest accomplishments, either professionally or personally?
This is a difficult one to answer because every day my role means I have the ability to make a difference to help someone with the next step in their career which has the potential to be life-changing. Or working with a contractor in overcoming a specific challenge and playing our part in a project being delivered on time. Sometimes it is what can be deemed as the small things that can give the greatest satisfaction. My outlook in life is always today I will make a difference.
Which Thorn Baker benefit is your favourite, and why?
Perkbox for my 5x free Nero's every month. There were so many Thorn Baker benefits to choose from but as a lover of barista 'coffee artista' made coffee that's my choice. Those who know me well are used to seeing a hand crafted coffee delight in my hand.
