Job Title:Contracts Manager

Thorn Baker has teamed up with the industry leader in design, furniture and fit out who are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager be a key part of the delivery and management team. With over 20 years' experience they are specialists in creating inspiring spaces for the office, hotel, leisure, education and healthcare sectors, working closely with architects, interior designers and the end user to create high quality, visually stunning interiors.

The Contracts Manager will report to the Head of Contracts and Contracts Director.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Developand implement project strategy and delivery programme
  • Ensure effective communication and implementation to deliver the project on time
  • Ensure regular monitoring and reporting on progress, and instigate corrective actions as required
  • Manage the operational aspects of the project to achieve the budget
  • Review performance against targets
  • Identify and manage potential risks and opportunities
  • Manage project handover and ensure defect / snag free completion
  • Lead and motivatethe project teamsand the supply chain to deliver the projectssafely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality whilst exceeding our clients' expectations

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 5-10 years continuous and current experience within a similar role
  • Main contractor background, ideally with significant experience with design and build fit outs
  • Full UK driving licence, ability to travel when required throughout the UK to attend site visits, project meetings, etc.
  • Working knowledge of JCT Contracts
  • Understanding of M&E installations desirable
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Be computer literate and fully conversant with MS Word / Excel / Outlook / Powerpoint/ Project
  • CSCS card holder
  • Able to encourage, mentor and coach other members within the Team
