Job Title:Senior Group Internal Auditor(Construction)

Thorn Baker's award-winning house builder is looking for a Senior Group Internal Auditor to join their Group Internal Audit department. Your Responsibilities:

• Perform periodic reviews of the Group's construction policies and procedural framework, providing recommendations where necessary to ensure these remain reflective of regulatory requirements and emerging good practice.
• Maintain a close working relationship with the Group Construction department and Independent Quality Controllers (IQCs) in order to understand the Group's construction practices and their operational implementation.
• Develop an annual risk-based construction audit plan to provide assurance on:
• The effectiveness and consistency of the IQC inspection regime.
• The appropriateness of construction quality culture within each operating company.
• Other areas of focus as defined by key stakeholders including the Board and the Group Construction department.
• Deliver the annual construction audit plan, using a combination of desktop data reviews, structured interviews (remote and in person) and site inspections.
• Produce detailed management reports and information on the construction audit plan for inclusion within the Director of Internal Audit's overall reporting to the Audit & Risk Committee.
• Support the Director of Internal Audit in handling whistleblowing investigations where allegations relate to construction activities.
• Support the Director of Internal Audit in delivery of any other audits or investigations that relate to construction.
• Where required, provide advice, information and training in relation to audit findings.

Required Skills:

• Experience of working in an audit or assurance-based role, within the construction sector
• Excellent organisational skills, being able to manage own time to meet targets and deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A good understanding of Microsoft products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
