Regional Health and Safety Advisor - Construction

Work location: Hybrid / Leeds, Yorkshire & the North

Ideal home location: Ideally Leeds and surrounding

Split: site 80% / office 20%

Working hours 08:30 to 17:00 40 hours

A brilliant opportunity for a Health and safety professional has become available with a market leader in the multidisciplinary construction sector. Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, you will be supporting and implementing health and safety across a variety of sites in the north west of England. This company is strongly focused on the continuous improvement of their safety & sustainability performance and are committed to achieving a suite of ambitious targets by 2030. You will be based in the predominately in Yorkshire, with travel to our regional projects when required. I am are looking for someone who is a self-starter, highly motivated and will bring a balance of creativity, focus and determination to my clients team.

 

The Location:

The role involves multi-site-based work and travelling to sites in North England. You must have a full UK driver's license and unrestricted UK right to work

 

The Person:

You should have a minimum of 2 years' H&S experience within construction & hold NEBOSH certificate or similar, with a good understanding of relevant SHEQ legislation and industry standards.

Key Accountabilities:

- Assist in the development and ongoing review of the Health and Safety for each site.

- Advise the site teams in the interpretation, guidance, and advice on the application of the SHE management systems

- Promote the Groups SHE standards within contracts and supply chain and conduct contractor/supply chain assessments

- Undertake site inspections and attend Site Review Meetings.

- Provide support with identification and management of SHE risks, issues and opportunities

- Support and facilitate liaison with enforcing SHE authorities

- Keep up to date with knowledge on current SHE Legislation, Best Practice, current thinking on H&S practice and developments related to our business activities

 

Reporting & Analysis

- Ensure regular monitoring report deadlines are met with integrity and the quality of the data is correct and accepted by all users

- Attend and support the Sites review meetings

 

Continuous Improvement

- Support the SHEQ Team 

- Support in the preparation and issue SHE Alerts / Bulletins and Posters

- Support with the review and update of SHE processes and procedures as necessary
