Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are excited to partner with a local council to recruit Refuse Loaders for temporary positions. This is a physically demanding role, perfect for those who enjoy working outdoors and staying active. You’ll be walking and lifting for up to 10 hours a day, regardless of the weather.

Job Role Responsibilities:

• Working as part of a team to load and unload waste bins
• Ensuring bins are emptied safely and efficiently
• Performing a physically demanding job, walking up to 20,000 steps a day
• Contributing to the smooth operation of the refuse collection service

About You:

• Available for immediate work
• Able to drive and commute to the yard for 5:45 am
• Prefer early starts and potentially early finishes (task-and-finish)
• Physically fit, with a strong work ethic, and happy to work in all weather conditions
• Have your own PPE (safety boots and hi-vis vest)

Hours and Pay:

• Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour
• Shifts: Tuesday to Friday, 5:45 am to 3:00 pm
• Weekend Availability: Overtime paid at an increased rate
  • o Time and a half for Saturday
  • o Double time for Sunday

Training: Full training and induction will be provided prior to starting.

As you will be representing the local council, professionalism and a positive attitude are always essential.
