Procurement Manager

Do you have experience within procurement in construction? Are you a strong negotiator and someone who can make and effect change?

A national consultancy in is keen to recruit a Senior Procurement Manager to head up and drive their purchasing function forwards. The business is going through an exciting period of growth as a result of a recent acquisition – you’d be joining them at the perfect time.

You’ll play a critical role in the growth and success of the business through developing sourcing strategies and securing favourable agreements with suppliers. This role will focus on the Aviation sector.

Essential: 

  • Degree qualified – within a construction or business related discipline 
  • Chartered in MRICS, MCIPS, MCIOB, MEng or equivalent, or working towards these qualifications  
  • Suitable experience on major capital programmes or complex projects including construction, engineering or systems projects 
  • Experienced in the development of commercial strategies and in procurement delivery 
  • Experience of working within the requirements of Public Sector regulations include the Public Contracts Regulations, Utility Regulations and/or Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 
  • Ability to take personal responsibility in dealing with clients and others while striving to exceed their expectations 
  • Familiarity with a range of different complex delivery models 
  • Excellent document drafting and analysis skills 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills 
  • Willingness to travel 

Desirable: 

  • Experience in NEC forms of contract 
  • Experience in any of the following: 
    • Developing Commercial Governance Procedures, Processes and Systems 
    • eSourcing and/or eEvaluation Systems 
    • Developing Packaging Strategies 
    • Developing Contracting Strategies 
    • Tender and Contract Documentation Production 
    • Running Tender Processes 
    • Commercial Management 
    • Contract Administration 
    • Early Market Engagement 
    • Risk and Opportunity Management
