Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of our local council client for an experienced HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver to join their dedicated team in Worksop.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for operating a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle while also actively assisting with waste and recycling collection. Although driving is a key part of the job, this role involves working hands-on as a Refuse Loader when needed — a great opportunity to stay active and work as part of a close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and load refuse and recycling bins across Worksop and surrounding areas.
• Safely operate a Class 2 refuse vehicle in accordance with all road and safety regulations.
• Work collaboratively with your crew to complete routes efficiently.
• Follow all Health & Safety protocols while driving and during manual work.
• Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with residents and local businesses.

What We’re Looking For

• A valid Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence
• Up-to-date CPC and tachograph card.
• A team-player with a flexible attitude — happy to alternate between driving and loading.
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Previous refuse collection or manual labour experience is a bonus, but not essential.
