Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are looking for an experienced Bakery Team Leader for a leading Leicestershire based food manufacturer
This is a permanent position direct with our client
The Job:
Provide leadership and take responsibility for the operatives in your area.
- Safety: Maintain and improve health & safety standards for the area
- Quality: Ensure safety & quality of products produced
- Delivery: Daily plan completion
- Cost: Ensure the area is run in an efficient manner
- Morale: Manage people in your area and training
Key Tasks:
Safety
- Promote safe working practises.
- Identify and report near misses.
- Support incident investigations.
Quality
- Monitor and improve Quality standards.
- Monitor and improve GMP and hygiene standards.
- Follow Technical advice to ensure Quality Management Systems are fully implemented and products made are safe and meet relevant legislation and customer requirements.
Delivery
- Communicate production plan to your team.
- Monitor progress against the plan throughout the day. Report any deviations from the plan.
- Achieve 98.5% customer service level.
- Support NPD trials and new product launches.
- Specific areas: Manage the receipt, filing and issuing of customer orders to the lines.
Cost
- Monitor WIP and finished product stock holding and rotation
- Meet KPIs for service level, waste, efficiency, labour costs
Morale
- Lead by example
- Training – bakery operator role specific
- Training – new product launches
- Training – safety and quality
- Identify skills gaps
- Holiday planning
- Investigations and disciplinaries
- Carry out any reasonable request made of you by your manager.
Salary is up to £32k per annum dependant on experience
The person:
- Previous team leader experience required - preferably in food production
- Positive, flexible and can-do attitude
- Problem solving skills
- Organisational and time management skills
- Good communication and influencing skills
