Location: West Midlands, Warwickshire, Dunchurch

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Monday to Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm 

Salary: £38,000 - £47,000 per annum

A National Housing Developer is seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join a new build housing project based in Rugby. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £48,000 plus a generous benefits package.

Job Duties

  • Support the Site Manager in the effective planning, organisation, and control of construction activities on site.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely, to the required quality standards, within agreed timeframes and budget.
  • Oversee and coordinate subcontractors and labour teams, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
  • Monitor daily progress and report on site activities, including resolving any operational issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including deliveries, inspections, and health and safety documentation.
  • Assist in managing materials, plant, and resources to ensure efficient site operation.
  • Uphold company policies and procedures, particularly regarding health and safety and environmental standards.
  • Engage with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to support smooth project delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification.
  • Valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.
  • Current First Aid qualification.
  • Full, clean Driving Licence.

Experience

  • Proven experience working in a similar Assistant Site Manager role, ideally within new build housing projects.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and site teams effectively.
  • Familiarity with site health and safety legislation and best practises.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of new build housing construction processes and techniques.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Competent in monitoring site progress, quality control, and health and safety compliance.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in using site management software and digital tools.

Working Conditions

  • Work predominantly on-site at the Rugby location in Warwickshire, West Midlands.
  • Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to site safety rules.
  • Role involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Travel to and from site as required, with company car or car allowance provided.
