Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are working in partnership with our client in Alfreton who are looking to recruit a Steel Fixer. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has previous steel fixing experience and is eager to work in a busy, fast-paced environment.

The Job:

• Tie together steel bars and mesh with nips.
• Must be able to read specific detail drawings and/or engineer’s calculation or description.
• Use steel cutters and do some hand bending to create non – standard shapes.
• Work alongside the casting team in setting up cages in the moulds for more complex components.
• Work to tight tolerances and accuracy.
• Follow all health and safety regulations.

About You:

• Have previous steel fixing experience.
• Be willing to learn and adjust to new working standards.
• Be proactive and not be afraid to lead by example.
• Be able to use measuring equipment and various hand and power tools.
• Be able to work well on their own and within a team.
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures.

Hours and Pay:

£11.70 - £13.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Between the hours of 5:00am and 15:00pm Monday to Friday, flexible shifts can be discussed.
