The Role
As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day‑to‑day management of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, to the highest quality standards, and in line with company values and standards.
Working closely with the Project Manager, subcontractors, and supply chain, you will play a key role in maintaining the business’s reputation as a trusted and professional contractor.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of site operations from inception through to completion
- Manage health, safety, and environmental standards on site
- Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, and suppliers
- Deliver projects to programme, quality, and cost expectations
- Maintain accurate site records, reports, and short‑term programmes
- Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and inspectors
- Promote a positive and professional site culture
About You
- Proven experience as a Site Manager with a main contractor
- Strong background delivering refurbishment and/or new‑build projects
- Experience working in live environments (education, commercial, leisure, or heritage preferred)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Proactive, solutions‑focused, and hands‑on approach
- Ability to plan ahead and manage multiple trades effectively
Qualifications
- SMSTS
- CSCS (Black or Gold)
- First Aid at Work
- Strong working knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practice
