Health and Safety Advisor
Job description
My client is a class leading progressive contractor with a reputation for quality and innovation, this company operates within a broad range of sectors including high end hotels, prime residential and commercial.
The Health & Safety Manager will provide ongoing health and safety support to a major high-end project in the Mayfair area of London for a 2-3-year period. This role involves the production of risk assessments and method statements. Working closely with site management teams, technicians, and client safety teams, you will champion HSEQ initiatives monitoring site safety performance ensuring compliance with ISO45001 Safety, Quality and Environment Management systems, company policies and procedures.
Reporting to the Project Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of H&S services on site. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to plan and stay one-step ahead. Candidates should be client focused, with sound commercial acumen and the ability to deliver results within deadlines.

Role responsibilities
- Liaise with client H&S Manager and others in the client team
- Chair internal site H&S meetings
- Attend client H&S meetings
- Support site team on all H&S aspects
- Review safe systems of work
- Attend and advise during safe start meetings
- Manage day to day H&S activities on site
- Conduct workplace inspections and report findings
- Conduct investigations into accidents or incidents
- Manage on site occupational health
- Coordinate training of project staff
Role Requirements
- An effective communicator at all levels with client facing experience
- A technically aware team player with experience providing health and safety support in the construction and building services sectors
- IT literate with proficient report writing skills
Desirable Qualifications
- 5 years site based H&S experience within the build/fit out sector
