Gas Engineer

Job description

Thorn Baker is seeking a Qualified Commercial and Industrial Gas Engineer with pipe fitting experience to join our well-established Electrical Engineering Contractor in Sheffield (national coverage). With over 20 years of experience serving various industry sectors across the UK, our client has built a strong reputation for providing excellent service. We are now looking for a dedicated and talented individual to join our team and contribute to their continued success.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of industrial electrical installations throughout the UK, playing a crucial role in delivering high-quality projects for our clients.

 

Please note: On some occasions, this role may require working away anywhere in the UK, Monday to Thursday, with installations taking between 3 and 7 weeks.

Requirements:

  • Able to install a variety of Pipe work (Press Fit, Welded/Pre Fabricated etc) to a very high standard with exceptional attention to detail
  • Fully conversant in commercial and industrial Gas regulations
  • Able to understand P&ID's and technical drawings/documentation
  • Willing to travel and be able to work away for short periods
  • Must have a good understanding of construction site Health and Safety
  • Able to arrange deliveries and unload and store materials on site and collate all on site documentation where required
  • Must hold a UK driving licence
  • This role will be forever evolving and will require the right person to adapt and take on a multitude of mechanical related disciplines should it be required.
  • Customer/client friendly and act as a point of contact for the company on site
  • Able to liaise and co-ordinate with sub contractors
  • Commercial/Industrial Gas qualifications required to be able to design/calculate systems and sign off works carried out by the company
  • Candidate must be fully converse in Purging procedures and Tightness/Strength Testing.

 

Additional preferred qualifications:

  • Hold an up to date IPAF card as working at height will be required on most projects
  • Hold an up to date CSCS card. (or equivalent Trade Card)
