Accounts Assistant

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are supporting a Chesterfield based manufacturing company in their search for an Accounts Assistant to join their business on a permanent basis. Working within a small team, assisting with the company's finances and accounts, this opportunity has an immediate start available and career progression for the right candidate. 

Main Responsibilities / Key Tasks: 

  • Sales Ledger transactional duties - attaching PO's to invoices, sending invoices and client receipts
  • Purchase Ledger transactional duties - inputting invoices, raising PO's and reconciling to supplier statements and associated supplier account maintenance
  • Posting, allocating and reconciling bank transactions daily
  • Monitoring emails daily, resolving queries as necessary
  • Completing VAT returns
  • Completing payroll for all employed staff 
  • Sales admin support as and where needed 
  • Ensuring all records and systems are accurately kept up to date 
  • Any other general Accounts office duties that may become necessary from time to time

About You: 

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in an Accounts role, ideally within a manufacturing background 
  • AAT qualification is highly desirable
  • Flexible approach to work in line with the needs of the business 
  • Aptitude to learn new things and take on new tasks 
  • Methodical, organised and process driven 

The Package: 

  • £32,000 - £38,000 dependant on experience 
  • Flexible working hours around 9am - 3pm 
  • 20 days holiday + Bank Holidays 
  • Health cover through the company (optional) 
  • Route to progression for the right candidate
