I’ve worked in construction recruitment since leaving university in 2004, so it’s fair to say I know the industry pretty well! Over the years, I’ve recruited across virtually every level, from site-based trades and labour through to senior management and Director appointments, while also building, managing and developing successful recruitment teams.
Today, I’m the Location Manager for Thorn Baker Construction’s Bristol office. What I enjoy most about my role is making a genuine difference – whether that’s solving a problem for a client, helping someone find their next opportunity or bringing a team together around a common goal. I like being challenged, asking questions and encouraging people to look at things a little differently.
Outside of work, my own distinctly average football career was brought to an end by not one, but two snapped Achilles tendons. These days, I’ve moved to the touchline and manage my daughter’s U8 football team instead.
And my slightly unusual claim to fame? I’ve won episodes of Countdown. Yes, really.
