ID documents we can accept

Before you start working with us, we carry out thorough Identification and Right to Work checks to make sure UK legal requirements are being met.

To complete your registration, we’ll need to see original documents that confirm your identity and your legal right to work in the UK.

If you cannot supply the required documents, please speak to your branch.

 If you are a UK or Irish Citizen, please supply:

  

  • Passport or Irish Passport Card

OR

  • Birth, Adoption or Naturalisation Certificate

  • Birth and Adoption Certificates issued in the UK, Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, Ireland, or issued by a British Embassy only.

  • Naturalisation Certificate issued by UK Visa & Immigration only.

along with proof of your National Insurance Number:

  • NI Card – Plastic or Paper card.

  • Payslips – From a previous Employer. We cannot accept remittance advice slips from Self-Employed workers, or payslips from ourselves.

  • Government Documents – Issued by Government and not downloaded/screenshot by yourself. Document must clearly show Government Letterhead, your name and your National Insurance Number.

If you are a Non-UK or Non-Irish Citizen, please supply:

  • Passport – For proof of ID

  • eVisa share code – For proof of Right to Work

Change of Name

If you have changed your name and your new name does not match the name on your documents, you will also need to supply a copy of one of the following: 

  • Marriage/Civil Partnership Certificate

  • Decree Absolute/Final Order (Divorce confirmation)

  • Change of Name Deed/Deed Poll
