THORN BAKER SEND MANAGERS TO UNIVERSITY

Matthew Dann from the firm’s industrial division, along with Matthew Page and Greg Marrett, who both work in the construction division, have all started on the course, following in the footsteps of one of the firm’s directors, Paul Jackman. He has recently completed the same Masters degree and has just graduated, achieving Chartered Manager status in the process.
Thorn Baker is firmly committed to staff training and development and is keen to help staff build a career in the recruitment industry, by offering formal management training to those that demonstrate they have the potential to succeed as well as long term prospects within the firm.
Paul Jackman a director at Thorn Baker said: “This level of management training leading to a formal qualification is rarely provided in the recruitment industry and yet I believe it is invaluable in equipping our staff to thrive in a challenging industry. Even though this is still very much work in progress, our clients as well as ourselves are already seeing benefits of more confident and more motivated individuals.”
Matthew Dann, who is one year into the course, said: “I am really pleased to have had this opportunity as it is helping me to hone and develop the skills that I already had as well as allowing me to learn much more. The course has definitely given me more confidence and I would certainly recommend it to others.”
All Thorn Baker’s branch managers are also currently undertaking The Introductory Certificate in Management – an accredited course provided by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
