650 new jobs for Airbus

MORE than 600 skilled jobs are to be created at the Airbus factory, near Chester, following a £5.2m grant from the Welsh Assembly.
Welsh economic minister Andrew Davies will today confirm the aid package during a visit to the wing-making plant at Broughton, just over the border in Flintshire.
The grant will allow the high-flying company to increase its workforce by 650 to meet a booming order book for the Airbus fleet.
Production at the site is set to soar due to record sales of existing Airbus models and the successful development of two new aircraft, the A380 superjumbo and the A350.
The new jobs were forecast a year ago but the Assembly grant today helped ensure further recruitment would go ahead.
