Grounds Maintenance Operative

Job description

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment is recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to work with our client who is an established sports surface renovator with over 20 years dedicated industry experience. Specialising in new build courts and pitches maintenance.

Highlights and benefits:

  • Full time hours, usual start 6am in the morning, with 8-12 hour shifts dependent on workload
  • All training will be provided
  • £11.44 – £13.00 per hour depending on experience
  • Temporary to permanent contract

Duties include:

  • Driving the company van to various sites
  • Perform general repairs and maintenance for all areas
  • Various court resurfacing
  • Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the facility
  • Manual handling of products (may involve some heavy lifting)
  • Brushing surfaces, painting lines and court markings, pressure washing, pulling weeds and cleaning up areas around edges of courts
  • Lining the clay courts
  • Use of power tools

What we need from you:

  • Previous experience in a similar grounds maintenance or tennis court maintenance 
  • Full clean valid driving license
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills as you will be required to work as part of a team 
  • Fit and healthy to move heavy materials
