Office support workers prize career progression over pay when looking for a new job, according to a survey by commercial recruiter Crone Corkill.
More than half of the respondents said career progression is the most important factor, followed closely by 35% whose most important factor is money, while just 3% say the job title is key.
A trend our Commercial Division have noticed in this ‘post recession’ climate we are in, is that candidates are actively seeking stable roles with career progression. Whereas a few years ago and extra 50p on the hourly rate or £1K in the annual salary could be the difference between a candidate accepting a job role or not. Here at Thorn Baker, during our interview process we delve into candidates motivators, asking them to tell us their priorities in; career progression, money, challenge, and security. This helps us to really define the match when considering candidates for vacancies. You need the right fit for your role, and to get the best out of that person once they are in situ. Our aim as recruiters is to do everything in our power to help you achieve this.
